Aquarius Parade marks the end of Mardi Gras! Galveston 2012
The King Cake tradition has been around for hundreds of years, and King Cake season is typically marked from the Epiphany, the day that marks when the the Three Kings visited the infant Christ, through Mardi Gras. King Cake celebrants know that each cake has a plastic toy, usually a baby, hidden within it. The baby represents the infant Jesus, and whoever finds it should expect good luck in the coming year - or has to host the next Mardi Gras party – just to name a few of the typical expectations.
